Cocaine dealer jailed after trying to flee Cambridge police raid

A man caught trying to leave the scene of a drugs bust has been jailed after he was caught with cash and a phone linking him to drug dealing. Cambridgeshire Police were carrying out a warrant at Cave Industrial Estate in Fen Road, Fen Ditton in March last year (2023) in connection with drug supply and money laundering.

A vehicle carrying Bekim Shoti hastily tried to leave the scene. Shoti, 27, of Cambridge Road, Fulbourn, was searched and found with a mobile phone, a fraudulent driving licence and £335 in cash.

He was arrested and his phone was reviewed and found to contain messages linking him to dealing cocaine. PC Mark Deal, who investigated, said: “We work relentlessly to tackle those causing harm to our communities through drug dealing and exploitation.

“We use our own information as well as information from the public to continually disrupt criminal networks across Cambridgeshire.”

At Peterborough Crown Court on January 11, Shoti was sentenced to three years and two months in prison after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of identity documents with intent.
