Two arrested after drugs warrant in Wickford

A teenager and a man in his 50s have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a warrant in Wickford.

Basildon’s Community Policing Team, with the support of our Operational Policing Command, executed a warrant at an address in Cranfield Court, Market Avenue, in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday January 31).

Inside the address, officers seized a number of offensive weapons and suspected Class A and B drugs.

A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug and possession of an offensive weapon. They remain in custody.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

He has been released under investigation.
