Greenock woman charged with ingesting suspected drugs

AN arrest warrant has been issued for a Greenock woman charged with swallowing suspected drugs and trying to flee from police officers.

Catriona Paterson is accused of intentionally obstructing two constables on John Wilson Street and refusing to co-operate with a search under Misuse of Drugs Act legislation on May 24 last year.

According to court papers, the 37-year-old, of Weir Street, ingested an item suspected to be controlled drugs and attempted to make off on foot from police officers.

A court hearing on Tuesday was told that Paterson is representing herself during proceedings, however she was absent from the latest calling of the case.

Sheriff Clair McLachlan granted a warrant to apprehend the accused.
