Drug dealer jailed caught by police in Bournemouth town centre

Cary Alexander, 31, was first detained by police officers in Gervis Place on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Following a search, Alexander was found in possession of several wraps of cannabis and subsequently arrested.

He was conveyed to custody where, following a second search, he was found in possession of several wraps of heroin and crack cocaine and over £400 in cash.

Officers conducted a search of Alexander’s home address, where they recovered additional heroin and a further £755 in cash.

He was subsequently charged.

Alexander, of Bournemouth, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, April 19, after admitting to offences of being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

He was jailed for 28 months.

Police Constable Stuart Grant, of the Bournemouth South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We recognise the impact the supply of drugs has on our communities and the concern it causes for residents.

“Therefore, we are committed to doing all we can to disrupt the activity of those involved in supplying drugs.

“Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team regularly carry out patrols in the Lower Gardens and will respond to reports of anyone seen to be acting suspiciously.

“We will continue to take action against drug dealers such as Cary Alexander and we would urge members of the public with information about drug related activity in their area to please report it to us at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101.”
